Scout trip to The Bahamas

We had the pleasure of taking a trip to The Bahamas in March with the crew from Elegant Bride Magazine (more on that adventure next week). We decided to go a few days early to explore Nassau. Our first two nights we stayed at the adorable Compass Point Beach Resort. Every surface of the resort is painted a different Caribbean inspired color. There is a pool and hot tub overlooking the ocean and beach access at the edge of the property. We stayed in a basic studio hut across the walkway from the ocean and it was perfect.

This is a great place to hold a destination wedding. There is a long dock which is ideal for small ceremonies or photos. The bar & restaurant are open air and look over the blue green water-perfect for a sunset reception. The resort is situated a few miles away from the hustle and bustle of Paradise Island and all the mega resorts which adds to the quaint feeling of the surroundings. It doesn't feel like a tourist trap. The restaurant serves authentic Bahamian food like conch fritters, fried plantains, and lots of varieties of seafood. Delicious.
